Birmingham. Jul 18, 2011. #1. The problems I've been having with my Punto's Dualogic gearbox have reached the most expensive option. In a nutshell, the car refuses certain gear changes. This is temporarily solved (~100 miles) by running an end-of-line service through the examiner. The pump works and whines as expected. Nothing but trouble with this Punto. Multiple window regulators, poor interior build quality, gearbox that fails after 80,000? I have a Toyota Landcruiser that has done over 300,000km and has only ever had minor servicing. Other smaller Toyota family cars have done similar. Fiat = Cheap, nasty and poor after sales service. Never, ever again.
Hi, Got a GP with Dualogic and have driven round in auto quite happily for 18 months. Have noticed an intemittent problem on all gear movements up the box in that it revs excessively during the gear change. Therefore transition to new gear isn't as smooth as it could be. Noticed it one
Hello, I have a Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 MJT 75 Dynamic from 2008. This winter, when it was very cold, I had some problems to change gears : there were very hard to change. Then, my mechanic said he didn't seen anything wrong, juste clear the gearbox and other things around it. Last week, my gearbox won't work anymore, in the middle of the road. Many "dualogic" problems are actually also suffered by non-Dualogic cars, but the problem had less effect because, for example, a manual gearbox won't stop working because your brake lights are faulty. A Dualogic car relies on knowing when you are braking, and will try to choose the safest option when it can't tell, i.e. go into Neutral. up! I also have Gear Unavailable problem here. 2006 GP 1.4 Dualogic. I had such in the past (only when trying to do reverse). During 2008 spring I had a permanent failure, and had to tow my car to the dealer. I was told they replaced some "gear position sensor". Everything was fine for a while (half a year, maybe). UUlZV.
